TWD - Cold Chocolate Crémeux, Wine-Poached Cherries and Lots of Crumbs
For Tuesday with Dorie this week, I have made a rich, decadent dessert - Cold Chocolate Crémeux, Wine-Poached Cherries and Lots of Crumbs.
This dessert comprises a mousse-like chocolate cremeaux, cherries poached in red wine, and biscuit crumbs sprinkled on top. The combined result is very rich, so I was glad that I only made enough of this recipe for two serves.
I made the full batch of poached cherries, and enjoyed them more with vanilla icecream than with the cremeaux, as the mild vanilla flavour of the icecream helped to tone down the richness of the poached cherries.
If you are a fan of the cherry-chocolate combination, more in an adult way than a cherry ripe, then this dessert could be for you.
To see what the others made this week, visit the LYL section of the TWD website.

Holy moley! It sounds delicious! Love cherries and wine and chocolate is good too!
I love cherries and chocolate so that sounds delicious to me. Those French glass bowls must be sold in every corner of the globe! I have them in multiple sizes from small dessert dishes to a punch-bowl sized serving piece. Some restaurants also use the matching plates.

I am sure I would enjoy this but your mention of stewed cherries and ice cream makes me feel a bit nostalgic as we used to have that as kids (and always played tinker tailor soldier sailor with the stones
I love these flavours together! I can't wait til cherry season although we seem to have some imported cherries around nowadays too.
This was very rich but I love cherries and chocolate together so it was a hit for me.
I do love those cherries and was thinking of making more. I like your idea of putting them on ice cream. The cremeux was a little too rich for my tastes too.
This looks fantastic! It definitely my flavour combo:)
I'm so looking forward to making this, this weekend, I think! Yours looks great and I like the idea of having extra cherries to enjoy with ice cream.
I LOVED this - and yes, just like a Cherry Ripe only fancier!
