This week's Tuesday with Dorie recipe, chosen by Peggy of Peggy the Baker, is a glorious dessert called Caramel Pots de Creme - basically, caramel flavoured baked custard.
I baked a single serve in a pudding mould that I had oiled so that I could unmould the finished pud and decorate it:
This was delish! Thanks to Peggy for choosing this decadent dessert - she will have the recipe, or buy the book, Baking From My Home to Yours by Dorie Greenspan. And check out the LYL section of the TWD website for more luscious pots de creme.

What a clever idea unmolding this! It looks so pretty :D I usually never see it unmolded but it looks nice that way :)
Yum! I really love custard! and caramel! :-) Sounds like the perfect dessert for me.
It looks fabulous. I like how you decorated it!
I think that looks truly incredible! I'd love to be served this as a dessert. I'll have to get my hands on a copy of the recipe.
Well done!
I had never thought about unmolding these until I saw yours. Looks great, especially with the decoration.
Wow, these are so pretty! I never saw a pot de creme unmoulded like this, but it makes for a beautiful presentation!
*kisses* HH
Your dessert looks absolutely fantastic! Is that a sugared edible flower on top? Because that is truly remarkable. Great post!
How clever and how beautiful! Love the little decoration! Thanks for baking with me this week!
I love the look of it un-molded and decorated. Well done!
It looks delicious.
That single serving looks so perfect! I ended up turning it into ice cream because pudding desserts never get eaten around here.
Your custard looks delicious, love how you decorated it. Hope you are having a great week :-)
This looks delicious! Absolute perfection!!!!
YC, it's a sugared violet - expensive but lovely.
Caramel and custard--yum!
It's beautiful, Cakelaw! What a great idea to put it in a pudding mold. The violet is just so pretty against the yellow.
those sugared violets are so cute - can hardly imagine caramel flavoured custard but that sounds good to me
