FFwD - Cardamom Rice Pilaf

Last week's French Friday with Dorie recipe was Cardamom Rice Pilaf.  Better late than never, right?

This dish involves frying up onion and cardamom seeds, then adding the rice, and finally adding chicken stock, lemon zest, salt and pepper, and cooking the rice until all the broth has been absorbed.

It was quite tasty - I served it with beef stroganoff and mixed veges:

That does sound yummy! I've got some cardamom somewhere in my cabinet; I'll have to give this a try.

P.S. Beef Stroganoff is one of my favorite dishes!

Your entire meal looks delicious, but I'm absolutely drooling over the beef stroganoff!

Sounds like a nice change from regular rice! :D

I've only used ground cardamom, but I think I'd like this. I should be marking all the recipes I should try in my book!

Your rice looks perfect. I'm having fun seeing what everyone served with the rice...lots of yummy looking meals. Your beef dish looks really good...outshines the rice.

I have recently started using cardamom. I'm loving the flavor it brings to savory and sweet dishes.

What a great meal! I enjoyed this rice -- made it a second time this week. I've never actually had Beef Stroganoff, though I like what's in it. It looks delicious.
