TWD - Granola Energy Bars
For Tuesdays with Dorie this week, we combined some healthy but delicious ingredients to make Granola Energy Bars from Baking Chez Moi.
Dorie required that one cup of fruit be used, so I used sultanas and dried apricots. Other ingredients include the (new to me) rice syrup, butter, pepitas, sunflower seeds, shredded coconut, oats, almonds and vanilla.
These bars were quite easy to make - the hardest part was cutting them up in a manner that they did not break off. They were also very tasty.
Although the ingredients are healthy, as the name of these bars implies, they are fairly energy-dense. For this reason, these bars will be a "sometimes only" food in my house.

I love muesli bars and these look delicious - I know what you mean about energy dense - often when I make them I cat them into squares rather than bars (actually am just about to do a batch for the beach)

They look delicious a great way to use up bits and pieces of the pantry.
I love that one of these bars tides from breakfast to lunch. Apricots were a delicious choice!
Agree that these are really energy dense and need to be rationed! So good though!
I had a hard time cutting mine, too. You got some nice even looking rectangles out of yours. Mine are mostly mishapen squarish shapes with chunks that fell off. Oh well, not complaining. They tasted good.
They look delish! I also now have a giant jar of brown rice syrup, what to do? With it besides make more granola bars ;-)
I have a plate very similar to yours but mine is blue. I must use it in an upcoming post. Sounds like these were a hit for most of us.
Just look at those bars. I can eat those all day and they would be perfect for my morning commute.
Your bars look good. I really enjoyed making these; they are perfect to take on our bike rides and hikes. I'll be making them often (we eat a lot of Clif Bars).
These were a huge hit at my house! I love how we can mix and match whatever nuts and fruits we like. Yours look delicious!
The brown rice syrup was a first for me as well and it seemed to do the job well. I agree about them being energy dense; I cut them into small pieces, more treat-sized than meal-sized.
Your bars look wonderful. We loved these and they will probably be making a regular appearance around here as Mark likes this kind of thing for breakfast. Mine weren't cut nice and perfect either, but I just figured they looked homemade and extra good that way! :-)
Rice syrup was new to me too. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought they were energy dense! (Your bars look delish!)
Nothing wrong with a little energy, though I just ate two of the bars and it's almost bedtime. ;) And I just learned something new--I didn't know what sultanas were. Had to look it up.

Your granola bars look fabulous! I also used apricots in mine! Loved the flavor of these wonderful…healthy bars! A keeper for sure!
