TWD - Bees Sneeze Nuggets

I have just moved house, so baking for Tuesday with Dorie (and posting this blog post) have posed some serious issues for me this week.  However, where there's a will, there's a way, and I have managed to bake and blog about these Bees Sneeze Nuggets.

Bees Sneeze Nuggets are named after a cocktail that Dorie had in New York, and the flavours of that cocktail (gin, lemon, honey, ginger, pepper) are incorporated into these little savoury cookies.  They look like scones, but they really are biscuits (or cookies, depending on where you come from).  These nuggets have the honour of christening my (new to me) oven.

I was rather sceptical, but these are very tasty.  They are only tiny (an inch wide), but as Dorie says, the flavours pack a punch.  I liked them - they tasted kind of like a throat lozenge in cookie form, which doesn't sound good, but it is.

To see what the other Dorie bakers made this week and what they thought of it, visit the LYL section of the TWD website

Congratulations on the move and kudos to you for baking after moving. I am glad you liked them otherwise the blame was mine since I voted for them. Throat lozenge is interesting, can't wait to try them.

hehe I was thinking I really liked the sound of these as I always have throat lozenges on hand. What a funny idea!

I love the name of these - they sound interesting. Hope your new home and new oven are going well (I would give a lot for a new oven right now)

Happy new oven and house!! They look very cute and though they sound weird: cough lozenge in a biscuit form, I trust you when you say they are yummy!!

Oh, they look so cute all lined up on that little plate. I made them and have to say they were fun and interesting. Of course, you know me...anything lemon anytime!! :-) So do you like your new oven? I am just getting used to mine (it heats faster and it cooks/bakes quicker, so I'm needing to just keep an eye on it until I get used to it more).

I am living my new to me oven. She has a little bit of rust on the wall side, but she is so much easier to use than the one in the rental -she lights quickly and easily, and I may even be able to use both shelves at once. Luxury indeed.

Oh, I am happy to hear that you are loving your new oven. It's always nicer to have something you really like to use for something else you really like...baking! :-)
