Donna Hay Lemon Yoghurt Cake
I was idly surfing the Web when Donna's Lemon Yoghurt Cake popped out at me. It looked so enticing that I immediately printed off the recipe (elevating its chances of getting made) and placed it into my pile of recipes wedged between the tins in my kitchen.
This is the kind of cake which is a pleasure to make because it is easy (no mixer required) and the ingredients are of the type that many people have on hand. If guests are coming unexpectedly, you can pop this little beauty into the oven in a cinch, and voila - dessert.
Of course, my cake is not the same as the stylist's version - with the icing recipe provided, I am not sure how you'd get it to look like it does in the photo accompanying the recipe. However, it matters not in the end, and the cake tastes great:
I like the thyme leaves, which make the cake look pretty and give an unexpected burst of flavour in each mouthful of cake, counteracting the sweetness.
This one's a definite keeper.

Your cake looks lovely. And such a pretty bundt mold design!
My I first say how beautiful your cake tin is, and how marvellous the cake looks!! I think they must spend half an hour getting the icing to look that perfect. What a great recipe, no mix master, just whisking!! Yum.And I have a big container of yoghurt in the fridge and some lemons!!
Thanks!
Thanks Cindy. I love an easy cake with basic ingredients.
I love a cake (or any meal for that matter!) that is easy to make and contains ingredients you already have. And this actually looks like an impressive cake- you would never guess how easy it was!
No mixer required = the best kind of cake. Especially when it comes out looking like this!
Lovely looking cake and the tin makes it even prettier!
I love Donna Hay recipes, they always seem to turn out the best. Lovely little cake!
damn delicious and healthy yoghurt cake!
well done my friend......
What a beautiful cake, and I love the thyme leaves. This one looks like "a keeper" to me!
yum - that looks so pretty - I want a bundt cake tin
I'm grateful I don't live anywhere near you...for one reason only, I would be dropping by all the time whenever you were making cakes to get a sample!! You always make the most interesting and delicious-sounding cakes. I can't make many here as I've not many to give them away to and my guys won't eat cake usually (they like pies and cookies, however). This one has my heart...yoghurt, lemon...you don't need to say any more!! :-)
