WWDH - Fried Rice

This week's Wednesday with Donna Hay pick is Fried Rice from Modern Classics I, chosen by Margaret.  You can also find the recipe online here.

My experience with Fried Rice in the past has been from dubious Chinese takeaways, and it hasn't really impressed me.  However, this is not your average Fried Rice - it is somehow lighter and more flavoursome than the Chinese takeaway equivalent.  I think it was even better on day two.

I have never made Fried Rice before, but was surprised at how easy it was.  This one is definitely a keeper.

When I cook rice for a meal I sometimes cook extra and make fried rice with it because it is better when the rice is cold - haven't done it for a while so I must be due some fried rice - love the stuff - though I can find the fried rice I order to be bland sometimes - glad you enjoyed making it

A lovely photograph of a well presented meal. Great for week nights and the addition of chilli is wonderful.

That is an easy recipe. I agree, it is best made with day before rice. I like this recipe, I'd have everything except the prawns, that's a big plus for me. It looks delicious!!!

This looks very authentic and I'm pleased to hear it tastes even better than the traditional / take away variety :)

My pick, but not my fave. It was good, but maybe too lite. I like eggs in mine and more veggies. Glad you liked it, tho.
