Bought pizza dough is not a thing here, so I made my own wholemeal pizza dough from this recipe. I am not a big pizza eater, so I reduced the recipe by half to make a 6" pizza for one.
Because I used a smaller pizza base, I could not arrange the asparagus spears in spokes, as suggested by Ellie. While I lost the visual wheel effect, it had no influence on flavour.
I quite liked this pizza as a light meal. Asparagus is one of my favourite vegetables, and with the cheese, it makes a moreish combination.

Just curious: what's a moorish combination?
Pizza looks good. I have some dough in the refrigerator for a similar one for dinner, it happens.
Hi Mae, It means "Tastes good, I want more."
Yeah I wish it were easier to buy pizza dough. I used to see it at the shops in America in little plastic containers!
Wow, these look awesome!
I was tempted to go with the asparagus but couldn't do it to hubby. I never thought, he was a fussy eater until I started blogging.
Yours is tempting though and I just might make this again with the asparagus, for me.
I love this pizza. Just ate it for lunch. Yours looks really good too. My asparagus was a very thin so I did not need to cut it the way Ellie suggested. But I should have put more on it I think!
I made my own as well. From Bittman. Good pizza, but needed more asparagus. Problem easily solved.
Looks aren't everything!!
Yep, made my own crust as well. We loved this recipe and I had nice big fat asparagus from my CSA basket so the flavor was really intense and good, which is wonderful as we love asparagus. I am definitely making this one again. Maybe I should make a little one like you did for lunch today...yep, maybe! :-)
