WWDH - Nicoise Salad

For Wednesday with Donna Hay this week, Sarah chose a classic - Nicoise Salad from Modern Classics I.  I do like a good Nicoise Salad - tuna, beans, tomato, olives, spinach, egg and potatoes.

This one uses fresh tuna, but I opted for canned.  The boiled egg was optional, but heck - what's a good nicoise salad without the egg?

I really enjoyed this, and I knew I would.  To see what Sarah, Margaret and Chaya thought of this salad, visit their websites.

This is such a delicious salad! I've usually had it with tinned tuna-I think someone told me that tinned is traditional?

Hi Lorraine, I am not sure, but if that be the case - excellent! Tuna steaks were too expensive and I already had tinned tuna, so it was a no brainer.

I made a veg version of a nicoise last night so it is interesting to see a more traditional one as I was wondering what is usually in it. Mine was not at all traditional but based on one I found online

Gaye, a lovely Nicoise Salad - I always think that we do not prepare this as often as we should - as we really enjoy it! Your plate looks so delicious!
Hope you are having a good week,
Andrea

I love Nicoise. Your egg looks beautiful - just right between soft and hard boiled; perfect, in my opinion.

Not a tuna fan...at all...either kind...so this would have been lost on me as I would have left out the tuna and what's a nicoise salad without the tuna? Maybe I could put in chicken as all the rest of it looks great. I'm trying to get back blogging again...I miss you all at WWDH! And you are all making such good things!
