BWJ - Baked Yoghurt Tart



This week's Baking with Julia assignment is Baked Yoghurt Tart, being a continental European-style tart based on non-fat yoghurt and topped with berries or fruit (I chose blueberries). 

This tart was easy enough to make - a flaky pastry dough, baked into a tartshell, and filled with the yoghurt-based filling and topped with fruit.  It tasted like a light cheesecake.

I liked this tart, but I didn't love it.  I think I'd prefer a cheesecake for something of a similar type, but this does have the advantage of being lower fat.

Your blueberry version looks delicious! I liked the light filling, but I agree that it can't compete with cheesecake.

Blueberries! Yum...

Everyone in my house thought it was a cheesecake until I told them differently. It sure did look like one...
I ended up using full fat Greek yogurt - I didn't understand the point of baking with nonfat yogurt. The fat is what makes it good :-)

It looks great and I love the blueberries. I confess I wasn't a fan of this dessert either.

Fantastic! I have never thought of a baked yoghurt dessert but now I think it sounds great...definitely a nice twist on similar but more traditional tarts.

it looks pretty but I suspect I would be with you in preferring cheesecake - though a slice just to be sure would be good :-)

This sounds like something I'd enjoy - the resemblance to a light cheesecake takes my fancy!

I enjoyed this tart…Blueberries were a good choice, I used blackberries. I will use full fat yogurt next time I make this…a bit more richness.

Looks great. I liked this one a lot because it was like a cheesecake but not as rich and heavy. Definitely a good one to make for a low fat low sugar tart that is cheesecake like!

Nice presentation and wonderful choice of berries - I love that you added fresh blueberries to your Jogurt Tart - makes for a delicious and elegant dessert! I thought this was a nice recipe to showcase some of the season´s best berries.

This wasn't a favorite of mine. Needed more of a punch to the filling. Maybe if I stirred the fruit into the filling itself, rather than just topping it. Hmmm..

With the addition of almond extract in the filling, my peach tart turned out great! Your blueberry version looks fabulous. :)
