FfwD - Double Chocolate and Banana Tart

This week's French Fridays with Dorie recipe is Double Chocolate and Banana Tart.  It is as decadent and rich as you would imagine from the name, with a chocolate flavoured crust, a ganache and a caramelised banana filling, and more bananas on top.

Here is a slice for your appreciation (though it doesn't show the caramelised bananas at all):

I enjoyed this, as did my colleague Lee, but other colleagues wasted some of it - at the end of the day, some of it was still in the kitchen so had to be thrown out.

I would not have wasted one crumb of this! It looks wonderful - such a perfect pairing of ingredients.

It looks lovely.
This one was a bit too rich for me, but everyone else in the house really loved it.

I should have been there to help you eat it. Your tart looks beautifully made and I'm sure it was decadent, but I would have made sure not one bite was wasted!

This was definitely decadent. I think it needed WAY MORE of the caramelized banana layer. That was the best part.

Why would they waste it?

Can't believe people would waste this! Yours looks great!

Yes, decadent seems to sum this one up. I could only manage one slice, but my husband ate two slices and then a third slice the next morning for breakfast!

You're so nice to bring in the creations to work even though some people waste it. Great post!

Beautiful job, looks delicious. Tricia and I both
enjoyed this one and will definitely make this
again. There are so many variations to use with
the ganache and chocolate crust.

wow that looks decadent - I love banoffee pie but I think this would give it a run for its money

Your tart is beautiful! It's hard to believe that some of your colleagues weren't tempted by it.

Your tart looks wonderful. Those kinds of colleagues... I can relate sometimes. Definitely rich, but so wonderful. Happy that you liked it!

I still have half a tart in my fridge....it's gorgeous, but I'm the only one who eats chocolate tarts at our house! Not that I'm complaining :). Your tart looks beautiful.

You must be working with the wrong kind of people!!

Looks lovely - the glaze on the bananas really elevates it to a professional looking bake. I can't believe it didn't all get eaten!

Throwing out ANY of your beautiful tart has to be illegal. Isn't there a law against tossing out ganache? Your tart looked beautiful and I'm sure it was delicious.

What a shame that some of your beautiful tart was thrown out...I would have kept it all to myself!!!

Yours turned out so lovely. Great job. Nana did well with this one too but went the nutella route. I ended up sending my leftovers to my sons school and those kids will eat anything that is not moving :)

That sounds like a chocolate version of a bannoffee without the cream. how delicious!
