Maryann of Finding La Dolce Vita and Marie of Proud Italian Cook are hosting Festa Italiana. How do you participate? Simply post about an Italian dish that you have made by 9 March.
My contribution is tiramisu, made from this recipe, which contains low fat ricotta cheese and light cream cheese instead of marscapone, so you can enjoy the taste without all the calories.
It is a melt-in-the-mouth combination of lady fingers soaked in coffee and Tia Maria, ricotta cheese, cream cheese and cocoa, lightened with beaten egg whites.
Enjoy! Thanks to Maryann and Marie for hosting this wonderful celebration of everything Italian once again.

This is my favorite Italian dessert. This recipe sounds especially delicious.
LOL A&N - lower cal is probably a good description.
Hi Maryann, thanks for hosting once again! Can't wait to party on 9 March.
A large virtual serving to you Happy Cook!
Thanks for hosting Marie - a fun event!
Hi Rosie, thanks - I am always interested in recipes where I can cut down a little on the calories (to stop my large hips getting bigger!), but not lose out on taste.
Hi Shirley, thanks - I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was.
Wow, what a gloriously good looking Tiramisu! And I love how you've given the low fat version of it too :)
Wow, your healthy tiramisu is such a great idea!! I adore tiramisu, and having a healthier version to now fix more often is wonderful!! Thank you for the great recipe!
AWESOME choice for the festa! I love how this looks! It sounds delcious!
Tiramissu is one of my favourite desserts but will you believe I never made it since I started blogging. I was afraid to make it after the bird flu, as the eggs are not cooked but I do miss it.
Now that you've lightened it, may I have seconds please?
Hi Lorraine, every calorie I save means more chocolate for me ;)
No worries Astrid - hope you like it.
Thanks Donna!
Hi Ivy, we've been lucky to avoid the bird flu so far (because of our isolation), so raw eggs are still an option.
Absolutely Claudia - a double helping coming up ;)
Yummmm. Sounds great. And you used Tia Maria! That excites me.
I like that you used ricotta and cream cheese. Mascarpone is so expensive here!
I'm gonna see you at the festa...& can't wait to try the tiramisu. YUM YUM!! I love tiramisu, & if you can knock off calories, WAY TO GO!!
Tiramisu is my FAVORITE!!!! Great submission!
Looks absolutely divine!!! And what a great substitution! I'm going to try this recipe soon...
What's better than low-fat tiramisu, I ask? Nothing!
I love Tiramisu and this look sooo yummy!!!xxGloria
