Toasted Muesli

I like having a variety of different things for breakfast to mix things up and keep it interesting.  I am a fan of porridge on cold mornings, but sometimes, I want something with a little more pep.  For that reason, I was keenly interested in a recipe for toasted muesli that I saw on The Mindful Foodie.  It featured oats, but with a whole lot of other ingredients to make things a little more interesting.  Even better, I had all of those ingredients in the house.

I duly made the toasted muesli, and I really enjoy it with warm milk on cold mornings.  It is also good to eat as a snack straight out of the jar.

I just use skim milk on my muesli, as I am not a fan of almond milk.  You can put whatever fruits you like with the muesli, and I think a splodge of Greek yoghurt on top would also be great.

What is your favourite breakfast food?

I like to make a variety of things for breakfast too, just so we all don't get bored. I haven't made muesli for a while but really should as it's nice to add just the things you like. I couldn't get the image of your muesli to load! xx

I really love home made muesli! That way you can add the stuff that you really like in it (and I'm all about the mix ins)! :D

I am not a huge breakfast person but granola or muesli with yoghurt and a dash of honey is up there for me

I was annoyed with a commercial muesli this morning that had milk built into the ingredient list (dried milk powder) - making your own is clearly the way to go to get the balance just right for one's tastes!

That looks good. That could be my favorite breakfast food combined with all the things you mentioned! My favorite breakfast food is a flapjack pancake but I rarely have them because, well, who needs all that butter and sugar or syrup? So I indulge in that rarely, maybe once a year. What I usually have for breakfast is one egg scrambled with some herbs and veggies thrown in. Not very glamorous but serves the purpose. :-)
