TWD - Swedish Visiting Cake
Today's post will be short and sweet. For this week's Tuesday with Dorie, our host, Nancy of The Dogs Eat the Crumbs, chose Dorie's Swedish Visiting Cake. What's not to like - it is a sweet vanilla plain cake with almonds on top and a crispy bottom obtained by baking in a skillet. It is delish served warm with icecream.

So easy and so delicious! This is definitely a keeper!
Looks great! And isn't everything better with ice cream? :o)
Hmmm...I haven't tried it with ice cream yet! Maybe I'll do that with the leftovers:) I loved this cake.
Mmm this looks delicious and served warm with ice cream definitely sounds like the best way to serve it! :D
Lovely! And I agree with Pamela...everything is better with ice cream!
Love it! And it is being paired with ice cream! Thanks for sharing!
Lovely cake! I like anything that can be made in under an hour.
I so wanted to eat mine with ice cream too, but my husband had all ready eaten all of it! Im glad you liked the cake, we did too! It was so good and so darn easy to make!
This looks absolutely delicious!!!!!
It looks wonderful, especially with the ice cream!
A short and sweet post is appropriate for this cake! I loved it plain and I'm sure it's even better with ice cream.
OOO!!! This would be good with ice cream. Looks tasty. Almost too easy to be sooo good.
love warm cake and icecream!
Your cake looks wonderful! I should really think ahead because ice cream would have been great with the cake!
I love your serving dish too - it's soo groovy! (That's the word that came to mind when I saw the dish!) =)
You have a good point, whats not to love? It looks delicious.
I feel a little ripped off as I never encountered this when I was living in Sweden. Perhaps I didn't have enough visitors. Or do enough visiting.
Ice cream makes everything better.
This does look really yum! and who'd have thought it was baked in a skillet!
Ice cream, ice cream...not once did anyone mention ice cream with this cake, until now. Maybe I should make another so some ice cream could be given its rightful place. Yours looks perfect.
What a lovely cake. Sometimes, the most plain and straight-forward things are the best!
Ice cream? That's brilliant! Love your cake, and I'm going to take notes from your short and sweet post. Thanks for baking along with me this week.
Gorgeous - simple and tasty; the best kind of cake!
The Swedish seem to have a lot of the best cake recipes... this looks like another one!
I hope you had a good weekend!
That looks terrific! Seeing your photo made me go back into my archives and I realized I've made these bars before - way back in November of 2016. I loved them, but haven't made them since. Silly me.
