TWD - Swedish Visiting Cake

Today's post will be short and sweet. For this week's Tuesday with Dorie, our host, Nancy of The Dogs Eat the Crumbs, chose Dorie's Swedish Visiting Cake.

What's not to like - it is a sweet vanilla plain cake with almonds on top and a crispy bottom obtained by baking in a skillet.

It is delish served warm with icecream.

See the blogroll for other interpretations of this cake, or Nancy's site for the recipe.

Hmmm...I haven't tried it with ice cream yet! Maybe I'll do that with the leftovers:) I loved this cake.

A short and sweet post is appropriate for this cake! I loved it plain and I'm sure it's even better with ice cream.

I feel a little ripped off as I never encountered this when I was living in Sweden. Perhaps I didn't have enough visitors. Or do enough visiting.

This does look really yum! and who'd have thought it was baked in a skillet!

Ice cream, ice cream...not once did anyone mention ice cream with this cake, until now. Maybe I should make another so some ice cream could be given its rightful place. Yours looks perfect.

What a lovely cake. Sometimes, the most plain and straight-forward things are the best!

That looks terrific! Seeing your photo made me go back into my archives and I realized I've made these bars before - way back in November of 2016. I loved them, but haven't made them since. Silly me.
