Helen Goh’s Perfect Hot Cross Buns


 I couldn’t resist trying out Helen Goh’s recipe for hot cross buns on @goodfoodau - and they are just as fluffy and delicious as promised. 

This is my first time baking buns using a tangzhong and I was impressed with the results. 

I didn’t have citrus peel, so I just replaced it with more fruit.


These buns are so good, especially served warm with butter.

  1. your buns look really impressive - bakery level great! Helen Goh and tangzhong are both winners - actually I have never tried tangzhong but read so much good stuff about it that I hope to one day

  2. I just found out last week that Americans don't have hot cross buns. I was surprised as I thought it was universal. These look great.
