TWD - Nutella buttons
This week's Tuesday with Dorie recipe is Nutella buttons. These are little mini white cake cupcakes filled with Nutella and topped with either ganache or white chocolate.
As you can see, I went the white chocolate route, and spread it on rather than dipped it because I found the chocolate to be too thick for dipping.
Here's a peek inside:
My "buttons" were not domed on top like Dorie's, but they sure tasted good.

Nutella is a favorite here and these look like wonderful treats to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteNow these look really good. Love the pretty insides. And the white chocolate icing looks wonderful xx
ReplyDeleteNutella is Matt's most favorite thing in the world. I have caught him just eating it by the spoonfuls straight from the jar...he writes his name on his jar as we are all onto his ways...lol. These look really cute and perky.
ReplyDeleteGosh I didn't even see the Bonne Idée of the white chocolate... Looks good! These were fun, nothing super special but easy to make and tasty!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to bite into these! Delicious.
ReplyDeletelooks delicious - though I thought buttons were biscuits not cupcakes so was surprised
ReplyDeleteWent with ganache on top but changed the filling-these are dangerous little treats!
ReplyDeleteI love it when there's a little surprise inside cupcakes :D
ReplyDeleteThe white chocolate was probably great with these since it's got such nice sweetness and the cake was pretty plain.
ReplyDeleteI went the white chocolate route on some and they were a big hit. Glad you liked them.
ReplyDeleteGaye, these Nutella Buttons (what a cute name) look utterly delightful - just like a treat that my kids would really enjoy! And such a nice cake platter too!
ReplyDeleteI'm regretting not doing the white chocolate. Did you just sub out white chocolate for regular chocolate in Dorie's ganache recipe?
ReplyDeleteWhite chocolate PLUS Nutella -- win!
ReplyDeleteSarah, I just used straight white chocolate, 'cause white chocolate ganache is more finicky than dark chocolate ganache.
ReplyDeleteI like the white chocolate topping, a great combination
ReplyDeletewith the nutella.
These little buttons are fun and good to eat! Maybe the next time I'll try with the white chocolate ganache.
ReplyDeleteMy cupcakes did not dome much either. The chocolate ganache was easy to make.
ReplyDeletethat white chocolate frosting looks tasty, and your buttons look nicely textured!
ReplyDeleteYour little cakes look quite tasty. I made a white chocolate ganache (as well as dark), but it broke down and did not look too pretty.
