FFWD - Dieter's Tartine

Welcome to another French Friday with Dorie. This week's recipe is Dieter's Tartine.

This dish is comprised of toasted sourdough topped with cottage cheese (I left out the sour cream), cucumber , tomato, salt and pepper and chives. It tasted really good - better than I had thought it would. I would never have tried this on my own.

  3. What a lovely fresh and colorful tartine you prepared - it does look and sound like you enjoyed this open-faced sadwich and I must agree with you, an easy and fabulous recipe (no sour cream for us either - goat cheese instead).
    Have a great weekend!

  4. While I wasn't overly excited about this one, it did taste good. I love the festive colors on top of the white cheese (though I used goat cheese because I can't deal with cottage cheese). Looks great!

  7. This was so fresh and easy. It also makes a great appetizer on little toasts.

  8. Anything on sourdough works for me. I used to bake my own sourdough bread but I managed to kill the Mother off which brought on stress and guilt!! I also would not have put this tartine together but now I'm a fan. Am thinking of other kinds, both sweet and savory, to make. Glad we all liked this.

  13. Looks so fresh and delicious!
I skipped the sour cream as well. I would have skipped it too thinking it's too basic. Recommend it with balsamic vinegar!
