TWD - Whole Wheat and Flax Daily Bread

This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie (Baking with Dorie) recipe is Whole Wheat and Flax Daily Bread.

As the name suggests, this bread includes whole wheat flour and flax seeds in the ingredients. Powdered milk is an unusual inclusion in the ingredients, but which seems to make Dorie’s bread recipes so good.

This bread is best eaten fresh on the day it’s made - I enjoyed the crust piece slathered with Bonn Maman chocolate orange spread. After that, I recommend toasting this bread.

To see what everyone else made this week and what they thought of it, visit the LYL section of the TWD website.

  3. This looks perfect - and Bonne Maman Chocolate Orange Spread? I need to find some of that!!! With fresh breads like these, I slice them the day after and freeze so I have fresh bread to toast when I want!

    1. That’s great idea - I will have to remember tgat. The spread came in an advent calendar, which contained all kinds of flavours you don’t see in the shops.

  4. I agree: eat fresh on baking day then toast! I am down to the last slice after having toast for breakfast every day since I baked my loaf. Your loaf looks delicious.
