TWD - Chocolate Cornflake Haystacks
Tuesdays with Dories - Dorie's Cookies is baking Chocolate Cornflake Haystacks this week. The closest Australian equivalent is Honey Joys.
These are cornflake cookies containing coconut, pecans, raisins (or in my case, cranberries) and chocolate.
These are simple to make and good to eat - not much more to them than that.
To see what the other Dorie bakers thought of these cookies, visit the LYL section of the Tuesdays with Dorie website.
Oh I much prefer Honey Joys to these!! These were good but I used Brown Rice Syrup instead of Agave (should have used honey) and I really wanted to use butter instead of an egg (a la Honey Joys) so mine were crunchy rather than chewy. I also prefer the regular desert rose recipe I think. But my staff room loved these!
ReplyDeleteOoh they look interesting! I love Honey Joys. How do they compare?
ReplyDeleteHi Lorraine, these are chewier and have lots of "bits" in them that Honey Joys don't - but I liked it!
DeleteI like the sound of these - never had them but would like a taste
ReplyDeleteI remember honey joys! These sound like a nice variation.
ReplyDeleteI was not a huge fan of these. Almost too healthy tasting for a cookie!
ReplyDeleteThese weren't my favorite recipe. I should have kept the raisins out!
ReplyDeletenow i need to make honey joys- hahaha!
ReplyDeleteI guess I need to look up honey joys too. These we easy to make and I am taking them to work.
ReplyDeleteThese were pretty good. The Man liked them and that was all that mattered
ReplyDeleteHoney Joys sound like a fine combination to me...well unless that also include chocolate...but the honey part sounds really good to me. I just love learning about the food and treats in your country. So much fun to read your posts. Your cookies look really cute, and they do so look like haystacks!
