TWD - Cherry Crumb Tart


I am so excited by this week's Tuesday with Dorie recipe - Cherry Crumb Tart.  I adore cherries, and even though they are out of season in Australia, we can readily get the imported American variety.

This tart comprises a tart shell filled with a kirsch flavoured frangipan and topped with pitted fresh cherries and streusel:



It takes a while to put together but it is so worth it - it is buttery, fruity, scrumptious goodness.

  2. This sounds so delicious. I love cherries in almost all forms...and as my husband doesn't it means I get more of cherry dishes to myself ;)

  4. Cherries are my favourite fruit so I would jump to make this, especially during cherry season. I think I've seen some at the markets but they might be American cherries?

  9. Cherries are the real deal in this tart. Not too many red fruits retain the brilliant red after baking. Love your tart and the red bike!

  14. Gaye, I enjoyed the red/white checkered table cloth and the red bicycle just as much as I did reading about your tart. It looks delicious and I was happy you could find all the proper ingredients. It isn't easy cooking "against the grade", so to speak. You are, as always, a good sport about it. Nice job.
