Our Tuesdays with Dorie recipe this week is Vanilla Mango Panna Cotta. This dessert comprises a mango puree topped with vanilla panna cotta.
I made a single serve, just for me. I think I added too much gelatine, because it was slightly on the rubbery side, but it was otherwise good - the mango puree made it. It was delicious even with tinned mango (because there is no way I am going to get fresh mango in the middle of winter).

Oooh bring on summer with this dish!! :D
ReplyDeleteMinifying to the max! Love that you made just one portion - I am currently on my own in France and wondered about trying this again with real gelatin but don't want 4-6 portions... good to know it can be minified significantly and I will keep an eye on the gelatin...
ReplyDeleteNice! Perfect for this hot weather!
ReplyDeleteIt was such a lovely combination of flavors. Made two. One for me, one for me!! LOL
ReplyDeleteMine was a bit gelatinous too... Seemingly more so than jello, but I thought it normal since I've never made this before. Glad to know I am not alone!
ReplyDeleteI made all four, but my husband and I each ended up eating two servings!!
ReplyDeleteI loved it with the mango also. Mine was quite creamy but I used a gelatine substitute. I'm starting to wonder what the texture should have been....
ReplyDeleteThe longer the panna cotta is chilled, the more gelatinous it gets. I am glad to hear that even the canned mangoes is good with this recipe.
ReplyDeleteThis was a hit in my house. I'll be trying it with other fruits!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful...I would have made a single portion as well...okay, maybe 5 single portions to have one each day for 5 whole days! It's fruity, it's delicious, it's not chocolate! Yahoo! My dessert-eater lands back in town tomorrow and will be living 20 minutes from me so hopefully I can get back to making TWD desserts because I will have some place to farm them all out. That's the plan. The line-up for August looks good!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to have Matt close by again! That's great news.
DeleteThat looks perfect and so delicious. This went over so well here, Hubby and I both loved it.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for making a single serving, it certainly looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteWe think so, too. Going to enjoy every moment of it! :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to do a single serving! And I love that you garnished the top of it -- looks great!
ReplyDeleteWith these recipes having a gram amount as well as a cup amount, breaking them down is so easy to do! I made the full batch but probably should have made half since there are still some in the fridge-it is summer here and the intense heat had us reaching for something frozen...
ReplyDeleteYum- looks delicious and yes, the fruit on the bottom definitely makes the dish !
ReplyDeleteYours looks like it turned out perfectly! I finally made this last night and it's such a relief from all the heat we're having this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI should learn to do side serving, I eat way too much dessert. Glad to know that it came out well with canned mango. I bet frozen would be ok too.
