Today's Wednesday with Donna Hay pick is Garlic Chickpeas with Cumin Fried Fish, chosen by Kayte. It comes from Off the Shelf. You can also find the recipe here.
Despite my fish collapsing under the pressure when I tried to plate it, this was a very tasty meal. The chickpeas, cooked with leeks and lemon zest, were a delicious side to the spicy fish, shallow fried with cumin and chilli. I ate my fish with stir fried vegetables (of course).
I think the chickpeas would go perfectly with any number of things, and I would definitely make them again.
(Blogger has determined the photo orientation; despite my saving it in Photobucket and editing it, and saving it in different file formats, Blogger insists on the photo being twisted 90 degrees, so let's just go with it, m'k?)
I used salmon and we loved the dish. I wasn't sure what to expect and we got better than I could have planned for.
ReplyDeleteWith the white fish, it looks interesting and appetizing.
Ooh this looks like a dish that I'd love to eat for dinner tonight! The garlic chickpeas sound so tasty! :D
ReplyDeleteOh, Blogger and its quirks! This does sound like a very versatile dish and the chickpeas could be paired with all sorts of things :)
ReplyDeletethe chickpeas sound really lovely - sorry blogger couldn't oblige with the photo
ReplyDeleteI KNEW there was something 'odd' about the picture but couldn't put my finger on it. Somehow this week got away and I didn't make the fish. But y'all all make it sound good so I will make it up - witht the asparagus!!
ReplyDeleteThis was a really good recipe at our place and one of my pieces fell apart also, I didn't photo that one, and you are right, it tasted just as good, collapsed or not!
