FFwD - Cheez-it-ish Crackers
This week's French Fridays with Dorie recipe is Cheez-it-ish Crackers. These are cheese biscuits with a kick of cayenne pepper. They are easy to make, and delicious to eat - a perfect combination. As Dorie says, they would be the perfect accompaniment to a cheese platter.
To see what the other Dorie cooks thought of this recipe, visit the LYL section of the FFwD website.
These did come together in a snap and we thought they were very tasty.
ReplyDeleteHave a great holiday!
I adore cheese biscuits! These ones look really good :D
ReplyDeleteI loved these crackers, more like buttery shortbread though...thanks for your visit, great to hear from the other side of the world;-)
ReplyDeleteHave a very Merry Christmas;-)
I love the idea of pepper in these :)
ReplyDeleteI wish mine had come out like shortbread too! Mine were puffy which was fine and they tasted great but I love the crumbly look of everyone else's!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! These little crackers will be a perfect nibble when you need to take a break from the sweets, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a nice, little cracker - very good for guests! Happy holidays to you!
ReplyDeleteI think I added too much cayenne because I needed to temper it with some cranberry date jam.
ReplyDeleteWe all loved these cookies! Have a very merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, these were wonderful! I didn't mention it in my post, but not only are they great with a glass of wine, but also with coffee next morning. ;)
ReplyDeleteThese are so perfect with the herbed olives. Yours
ReplyDeletelook great and so tasty. Have a great Christmas.
I was surprised that such an easy recipe packed a delicious punch of flavor! Glad you enjoyed, too! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeletePS...LOVE the kangaroo crossing magnet :)
Cayenne sounds like it would be so good in these! I made some similar crackers last week, but now I need to try this recipe.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays, Gaye. First, I am delighted with my Tour of Australia hankerchief. You don't know me well but I love stuff like that. And, I've managed to pull that out in front of a few friends, name drop, "Dorie, Gaye, InternationalCooking group" and it's a conversation starter. Thanks you. I liked these crackers also. Of course I am the only person in America who had no idea what Cheez-its were. I've never had one and I don't think they sell them in Australia. (If Australia haven't imported them yet, don't let them in.) I understand they make your tongue yellow for days. I hope this Season gives you a few days out of the office and time to relax with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteThese are perfect for a cheese platter, with a glass of wine, of course. I hope you have a lovely holiday! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have an easy recipe that's elegant and delicious, isn't it? Have a lovely holiday!
ReplyDeleteYour crackers look perfect. I just loved these and couldn't stop popping them into my mouth!
ReplyDeleteYou nailed it with your description- "easy to make, easy to eat". Sadly, I have eaten more CheezIts than I should admit to, but making Dorie's homemade (and way yummier) version seems to give me license to enjoy even more ! Happiest of holidays :)
ReplyDeleteYour version of cheese crackers look so elegant and so nicely presented. They have a great color! I would like to take the opportunity to tell you that is a real joy being part of this wonderful and dedicated group of Dorista bakers and cooks and I am looking forward to the coming year! Wishing you and your family very Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteI don't make crackers near enough, and they are always so easy to make and far superior to anything that comes in a package from the market. Yours look wonderful!
