This is like any other bread pudding, except with heaps of eggs and an extra apple middle.
You are supposed to spread the bread with apple butter, but I didn't have any, so I used marmalade instead - hence the apple-orange bread pudding.
This is how it turned out:
This would be a super pudding for a cold day - substantial and filling.

Yours looks so much better than mine did! I love how you swapped out the apple for orange marmelade.
ReplyDeleteApple and orange pudding sounds great, especially since I still have at least 6 jars of marmalade left from that DB challenge!
ReplyDeletePerfect dessert (or snack even) for this type of cold whether! Looks delish!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm. Sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteI really like the sound of using an apple butter on the bread-although it's hard to find in the stores. I guess it's an excuse to make apple butter! :D
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of apple in bread and butter pudding but I always cringe at the idea of lots of eggs - wonder if I would like marmalade in it - I don't like it on toast but love it in baking!!!!
ReplyDeleteAgreed that your flavour combination sounds wonderful! I wasn't a huge fan of mine.
ReplyDeleteApple and Orange sounds great! The Lovely Wife loves bread pudding with lots of warm custard so maybe I should try this sometime!
ReplyDeleteThis combination sounds great !! Beautiful !
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty, and the orange sounds like a great substitute!
ReplyDeleteI love apple desserts!
ReplyDeleteI'd never have thought of this combo! Lovely.
ReplyDeleteMarmalade sounds like it would be delicious in this pudding. It has been unseasonably cold where I live, so this was a nice dessert to make this week.
ReplyDeleteJust had to share--had a blueberry bar today that was aMAZING!
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I have some very sad news about Rosie from Baking Cakes Galore, she has passed away. Could you please pass by my blog. I have written up a tribute for her on my blog and would like everyone who knew her to leave a comment as I will be printing out all the comments to send onto her husband.

The blueberry bar came from a new local bakery...it was amazing! I'm going to call the owner and ask for classes!
ReplyDeleteYUM!! Apples and oranges. Sounds like a winner. Looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBread and butter pudding always makes me think of my Nanna. Thanks for the tasty reminder :)
ReplyDeleteI have a weakness for bread pudding.
