TWD - Dorie's Best Chocolate Chip Cookies



Our Tuesday with Dorie host this week is Kait of Kait's Plate, who chose My Favourite Chocolate Chip Cookies as our Dorie recipe of the week.


These are very chocolatey cookies, with a crispy edge and chewy centre. The recipe calls for nuts, but I left these out - in my view, chocolate chip cookies should not contain nuts.


You get heaps of rather large cookies from the recipe, which is a necessary return on the investment of 350g of chocolate. I used dark chocolate cut into chunks, although the recipe calls for bittersweet chocolate.


These cookies are delicious - if you are a chocolate chip cookie fan, then you will probably like these.

    I'm with you--true chocolate chip cookies shouldn't have nuts.

    I thought these tasting fantastic, loved the flavor, but I don't like flat cookies. I really enjoyed how they tasted though ;)

    Actually you know I agree with milk or dark choc chip cookies not having nuts but I do love white chocolate and macadamia cookies! :D

    I loved these cookies and I was surprised, I like them flat instead of rounded.

    Yours look crisper than mine. That is nice, crisp and chewy.

    Glad you like them! I put pecans in mine, cause I like them with the chocolate. Mine were flat too, but pretty yummy!

    I used dark chocolate too. My cookies baked very flat. The hubby didn't like them. I thought the taste was pretty good, but not the look.

    These are delicious! I left the nuts out too. My husband is really against them, but I have to admit I prefer them without nuts also.

    These were a big hit at our house b/c the guys love the crunchy crispy cookies! Yours look really nice and they would love those crispy edges! Very pretty on that blue plate.

    I'm not a fan of nuts in chocolate chip cookies either! But I love a good chewy cc cookie!

    I totally agree. No nuts in chocolate chip cookies! Especially nasty walnuts...haha. These cookies look great. I love all the chocolate...yum!
