TWD - Vanilla Icecream


For a change of pace this week, the Tuesdays with Dorie group are making Vanilla Icecream at the selection of this week's host, Lynne of Cafe Lynnylu.

Previously, I had wondered why anyone would make their own vanilla icecream when you can readily buy quality icecream in this flavour. However, this icecream recipe informed me why - it is truly one of the most delicious, creamy icecreams that I have ever tasted. I only made a half batch but wished I had made the full batch - I enjoyed this, and ate it all very quickly.

    I know! Me too! You think about the expression "plain vanilla" and it evokes the "nothing special" response. But this one was spectacular. I love how you served yours...so cute!

    Ooh what a cute ice cream cup! Yes I agree the really nice simple flavours are great when homemade so that you can use top quality ingredients :)

    Vanilla ice cream is one of my favorites because it is so versatile. You can eat it by itself , put some berries or have it with chocolate ganache. Can't wait to try this recipe myself, ice cream maker is waiting to churn!
