WWDH - Bocconcini stuffed meatballs with tomato sauce
For Wednesday with Donna Hay this week, Sarah chose bocconcini stuffed meatballs with tomato sauce.
Being meatballs, they really don't photograph well. However, they tasted pretty good. The bocconcini in the middle melts during cooking, so it would be a nice surprise if you had no idea it was there.
I served my meatballs with potato and veges, with the tomato sauce enlivening everything.
Overall, this was a pretty good dish.

Looks delicious. xo Catherine
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh to myself when I saw these meatballs, Gaye. When my kids were little, the only way I could get them to eat meatballs was to "stuff" them with pieces of mozzarella. Bocconcini wasn't readily available back then:)
ReplyDeleteI see it's still a hit these days. Yours look delicious photogenic or not!
Thanks for sharing, Gaye...
So yummy! I'll try it tomorrow when I gather all ingredients :D
ReplyDeleteI think they look great and I can imagine how great they taste. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the liquid filling in the centre of these meatballs! :D
ReplyDeleteThis was a good one, we enjoyed those spicy meatballs! Yours look so good and that photo of them in the pan is wonderful. I would definitely make this one again. The cheese in the middle was a fun factor. :-)
ReplyDeleteUhh I think stuffing meatballs with bocconcini sounds fabulous! I have to try making these for Eric.
ReplyDeleteI loved the idea of the melty cheese in these meatballs. Definitely making these again. Especially with all the mini cheese balls I still have left!!
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm glad you liked them. I'm making them tonight for my anniversary! I'll let you know how it goes. My husband is a real meat and cheese lover.
ReplyDeleteI've put feta inside hamburgers but never thought of doing this. It looks so delicious. Yum!!
