FfwD - Double Chocolate and Banana Tart

This week's French Fridays with Dorie recipe is Double Chocolate and Banana Tart.  It is as decadent and rich as you would imagine from the name, with a chocolate flavoured crust, a ganache and a caramelised banana filling, and more bananas on top.

Here is a slice for your appreciation (though it doesn't show the caramelised bananas at all):

I enjoyed this, as did my colleague Lee, but other colleagues wasted some of it - at the end of the day, some of it was still in the kitchen so had to be thrown out.

  2. It looks lovely.
This one was a bit too rich for me, but everyone else in the house really loved it.

  3. I should have been there to help you eat it. Your tart looks beautifully made and I'm sure it was decadent, but I would have made sure not one bite was wasted!

  4. This was definitely decadent. I think it needed WAY MORE of the caramelized banana layer. That was the best part.

  6. Yes, decadent seems to sum this one up. I could only manage one slice, but my husband ate two slices and then a third slice the next morning for breakfast!

enjoyed this one and will definitely make this
again. There are so many variations to use with
    the ganache and chocolate crust.

  15. I still have half a tart in my fridge....it's gorgeous, but I'm the only one who eats chocolate tarts at our house! Not that I'm complaining :). Your tart looks beautiful.

  17. Looks lovely - the glaze on the bananas really elevates it to a professional looking bake. I can't believe it didn't all get eaten!

  18. Throwing out ANY of your beautiful tart has to be illegal. Isn't there a law against tossing out ganache? Your tart looked beautiful and I'm sure it was delicious.

  21. Yours turned out so lovely. Great job. Nana did well with this one too but went the nutella route. I ended up sending my leftovers to my sons school and those kids will eat anything that is not moving :)
