TWD - Chocolate Salami

This week's Tuesday with Dorie recipe is Chocolate Salami.  Sounds weird, yeah?  It's not actually salami but rather a candy-like concoction containing sugar eggs, cocoa, biscuit pieces, dried apricots and pistachios.  It gets its name solely from its appearance.

The chocolate salami looks pretty, but is very rich and does not maintain its shape well out of the fridge for too long.  It was OK, but not something I'd make again.

  1. So fun. I make a log like this with other things. But now that you say it, I really could be a choco-salami roll. Cheers and boogie boogie.

  2. It does look divine, but I agree as after making a similar one with great enthusiasm, the end product was not particularly wonderful. Experience is a wonderful thing 8) Merry Christmas!

  3. I actually really enjoyed this one - I think it needs smaller pieces of cookie to make it easier to cut. So delicious though!

  4. I tried a similar recipe a few years back and we loved it. Lots of fun and a good gift idea - not surprising yours didn't keep its shape out of the fridge if it was one of the hot days we have had lately

  5. This sounds fun but I can imagine it is fiddly! Hard in Australian summer too - probably it would hold its shape better in our cold weather here :-)

  6. Interesting, and I know my family would probably like it because they're the chocolate lovers! You just don't know what it's like until you make it! ☺

  7. My family did not want this one and I was afraid to take it to work. Keeping it refrigerated would be a problem. Glad it tasted good. Have a Merry Christmas.
