Go figure. So I understand why you did not like them if you're not a "fishy flavor" kind of gal! Do you like Lox & Bagels? If so, Betsy is right, you might have enjoyed this better on a bagel. As for the leeks. I LOVED this dish. I'm not sure I've ever tasted it in France although it's supposed be a classic in every bistro, but I sure enjoyed it at Chez Hirsch.
