EwE - Chinese Vegetable Soup with Pork

For Eating with Ellie this week, Chaya selected Chinese Vegetable Soup with Pork.

This was a very tasty vegetable soup, but puzzingly, the pork was left on the side.  I wanted my pork to be flavoured by the soup, so I added it on top.

This was a really good light meal - I'd make it again.

To see what the other Ellie cooks thought, visit the LYL section of the EwE website.

I am fascinated by the name of this soup - I once was served vegetarian soup with chicken at a cafe and this name reminds me of that. It would be a good dish to serve with pork on the side for vegetarians and omnivores eating together.

Different, for sure and it sounds good, your way!

Do you think, Ellie meant it to be on the side. When I couldn't find any reference to the chicken (in my case), I cut it into smaller pieces and added it to the soup. Quite a puzzle.

I would definitely add the pork to the soup. It does look like there's a lot of flavour in this dish and it is definitely soup season xx

I think I would like the pork inside the soup too! The more flavour the better :D

I agree, was very good. I put my pork like you did and cut it a bit to make it easier to eat. I liked that the soup wasn't heavy and had lots of veggies and good broth. Yours looks delicious.
