TWD (BCM) - Marquise au Chocolat

This week's Tuesday with Dorie recipe is all about chocolate - it is a frozen dessert called  Marquise au Chocolat.

Butter and dark chocolate are mixed with egg yolk, sugar and cream to create a very rich, dark ice confection:

I quartered the recipe, and to give you an idea of how rich this dessert is, even a quarter of the recipe uses roughly 100g of chocolate.

This dessert was probably a little too rich for my tastes, but if you like your chocolate, deep, dark and rich, this is the dessert for you.  I took the leftovers to my friends at work and they loved it.

To see what the other Dorie cooks thought of this recipe, visit the LYL section of the TWD website.

I do love a marquise - so rich you can feel it coating your mouth in chocolatey goodness!

I absolutely LOVED this - totally my kinda thing! Kudos to you for 1/4ering the recipe - minifying rules! (though it looks totally like a normal sized one in your pic!)

Oh gosh, It may even be too rich for me and I do love my chocolate!

Thanks for sharing, Gaye...

It does look very rich but very delicious indeed! Perhaps served in very thin slices ;)

This was very rich and very good. Our teenager did not have any problems with big slices since he loves choclate. I liked smaller slices and will use wild berries with it next time. Yours look very good and like a normal size must be a small plate. :o)

Mark was loving every bite of this. You know my answer. :-) Yours looks really dark and chocolatey. I don't know the differences in chocolate so I just had Mark get what he thought he would like to eat and it said 60% something or other. Anyway, yours is much darker, so that probably means much richer, rght? Nice job.

It was a lot of chocolate! At least it's easy to reduce this recipe. I thought it was rich too.

I loved that you quartered the recipe and that your Marquis has a slightly marbled look to it. I think that adds to the presentation! And yes, omg, so rich!

Wow, 400g of chocolate for the full recipe is a bit mind blowing!! I'm glad you found some rich dessert / chocolate lovers to enjoy it.

My son agrees with your sentiments on chocolate. I on the other hand think the more chocolate the better. I bet your coworkers were happy. See you Friday.

Yes, lots'o chocolate! I had a whole handful walking out of the grocery store. Your cake turned out beautiful and I love the marbling it has!
