FFwD - Tzatziki

This is a fabulous French Friday with Dorie.  It's not because of the weather in Melbourne today - after the most glorious week of warm weather we've had in ages, it turned today, and it is rainy and cold and windy.  No, it's because I have been on leave this week, spending time with my family who are visiting from Queensland.  It has been a wonderful week and I am sad that it has drawn to a close so quickly.

For FFwD this week, we had to make Tzatziki.  I was not excited about this, as I have only tasted commercially made tzatziki  that is sour and horrible.

However, this tzatziki was a revelation - it was creamy and smooth and very tasty with crackers.  I have a whole new perspective on tzatziki.  I substituted the dill for chives and left out the mint - I really don't think it mattered.

To see what the other Doristas/Doristos thought of this dish, visit the LYL section of the FFwD website.

great weather to have family visit from Queensland - and home made dips are so lovely - I am a fan of tzatziki whether from the shops or homemade but I don't have it often

Yay for family and time off!
Vacation time is never long enough, is it?

Tzatziki isn't my favourite of dips but now you've made me wonder if that's due to never having it the right or homemade way. Glad you liked this anyhow!

What a lovely presentation of your fresh tzatziki, there is nothing that comes close in taste to the homemade version of this Greek yoghurt dip/sauce.
How nice that you got to spend some time your family too last week!
Have a great weekend!

Send some cloud and rain to Palm Springs please! We have two more months of 100+ temps before we start dipping into the 90's. This was really refreshing and creamy. Perfect for warm weather.

Store bought tzatziki can be really bad, so glad you've been won over by the good stuff.

Don't you love visiting with family? Even better when they come to you. I'm glad to hear you made an unexpected discovery with homemade tzatziki. Love when that happens.

It is amazing how something you think you don't like you suddenly realise you do when you have a good homemade one.

So glad to hear you enjoyed time off with family. A great combo. And all the better with Dorie's tzatziki ! Yes, FFWD has definitely gotten us to try a few things we thought were not going to fly- so fun when we turn into converts.
