Salted caramel sauce

I had a fair amount of leftover cream in my fridge recently, and was wondering what to do with it when I stumbled across a recipe for salted caramel sauce by Adriano Zumbo via Mmmm, Sugar!

This sauce was relatively easy to make.  The only tip that I have is to use a saucepan or skillet with a wide surface area, otherwise it takes way too long for the sugar to melt and it tends to clump.

This sauce can be used in cakes and other sweets, to top icecream, or to fill chocolates.  I am unsure how I will use mine as yet, but I am leaning towards making caramel filled chocolates as gifts.

You're a genius--though, I'd struggle with what I'd use this for...tooo many tempting options. I would LOVE to receive caramel stuffed goodies as a gift bc THAT'S a gift! =)

Yep, I think it would be featuring on a spoon for me too!

But I will say, if you make it into chocolate gifts, you will probably have some very happy friends and family :)

Ooh this is such a great idea! I always seem to have some cream leftover (case in point, this week it happened) and usually I make a creamy pasta but this is a better alternative!

oh yum - I try not to buy cream because it often gets neglected and I never know what to do with it - but this sauce looks delicious - would be great in brownies or a tart
